These illustrations are published in Where Did the Turtles Go?, a children’s picture book written by Katie Lerwick.
About my process: I begin with digital photographs of real environments and from there I use a tablet as a canvas and a stylus as a brush to create the characters and landscapes, layering digital elements, blending colors, and developing the textures, shading and light.
